Between 1974 and 1975, a workshop project initiated by the U.B.C. Women’s Office Collective, trained women to produce their own videos through the Cable 10 community cable studio. The series “Women In Focus” was the result. Their videos were broadcast on Vancouver Channel 10 in 1975 and 1976, and intermittently in the Surburbs of Richmond and Surrey. Videos were also accessible through the Women In Focus Audio-Visual Library at the U.B.C. Sub-Building Women’s Office.
Description: This tape examines the problems of sexism in education and its effects on children and their futures. Linda Shuto and Reva Dexter, two teachers involved in changing sexism in British Columbia education, discuss the issues and some solutions.
