Call For Submissions: Too Soon

Call For Submissions: Too Soon

Video Out Distribution
Call for Video Submissions | “Too Soon”
Deadline: April 22 2017

Video Out Distribution is seeking video works that grapple with contemporary experiences of history.

After the upheaval of yesterday, last decade, and so on, seers, schemers and searchers of all stripes speculate about the epochal transformations that might befall these nows we know. Crises compel historical thinking: theories of how time passes as well as a plodding accumulation of reckonings with the yester-times that flash now before us with renewed significance. We are interested both in works that treat very specific histories and those that deal with historical matter in a more broad orbit; however it is that now and then are meeting here.

To submit please send a weblink of the work (WeTransfers will not be accepted), a short synopsis, and an artist biography to distribution@vivomediaarts.com. Digital submissions only, please. Digitized film submissions accepted. No more than 3 submissions per artist. Please send email submissions with the subject LastName_VideoOut by Saturday, April 22nd 2017.

Video Out Distribution is an international, non-exclusive distributor and is a part of VIVO Media Arts Centre located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Works selected from this call for submissions will be screened at VIVO’s monthly series New Additions. The date for this screening has not yet been confirmed.
