“Unstable Signal: Glitch Video”
Deadline: October 20th 2015

Video Out Distribution is seeking experimental video works that engage the aesthetics of signal failure, noise, technological disruption, and the physical degradation of analogue or digital materials.

To submit please send a weblink of the work, a short synopsis, and an artist bio to Digital submissions only. Digitized film submissions accepted. No more than 3 submissions per artist. Please send email submissions with the subject LastName_Glitch by Tuesday, October 20th 2015.

Video Out Distribution is an international, non-exclusive distributor and is a part of VIVO Media Arts Centre located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Works selected from this call for submissions will be screened at VIVO’s monthly series New Additions on November 11th 2015 and will also be entered into distribution.

Works will be selected by a jury comprised of Shauna Jean Doherty, Distribution and Outreach Manager for Video Out, Sara Gold of House of Gold and Garnet Hertz, Canada Research Chair in Design and Media Arts and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Design and Dynamic Media at Emily Carr.

BENT: A Circuit Bending and Glitch Series at VIVO
Throughout the months of October and November, VIVO Education is hosting a Circuit Bending and Glitch series in partnership with Vancouver New Music and Video OutThere will be open build nights/workshops, performance opportunities, screenings,video submissions, talks, demonstrations and one big final showcase on November 7th, featuring the biggest and baddest circuit bent projects in Vancouver.
