Verb Frau Television: Season 2
VERB FRAU TELEVISION
Introducing Season 2 Episodes 1 – 4
Artist Margaret Dragu takes on one of her many personae in Verb Frau TV as feature interviewer, performer, and personality, Verb Frau. Following a successful Season 1 in which Dragu created 15 episodes which were Live Streamed during her Big European Tour through Berlin and Belgrade in May 2013, Season 2 is set to launch on Friday, July 17th 2015, after which each episode will be released every week for 3 weeks.
Both seasons of the ongoing series investigate contemporary performance art practice through conversations with international artists, from the new and emerging to the senior and famous. For Season 2 Margaret Dragu as Verb Woman interviews international performance artists in Berlin’s Gruntäler 9 Gallery during Month of Performance Art Berlin 2015, interrogating what effects the making of each artists’ work and how and why they pursue their practice.
These downloadable episodes may vary in technical quality by contemporary standards but their ad hoc, low-fidelity attributes are often an integral component of their production process and aesthetic design. The accessible and often live quality of the Verb Frau TV series is fundmamental to the project. Dragu presents a necessary perspective on performance art that rests if not outside of the academy, then certainly alongside it. With a pirate radio finesse Verb Frau TV offers democratic content with an independent agency that contributes to contemporary art discourse.
