E-waste geographer Josh Lepawsky visits VIVO!

VIVO is thrilled to have geographer Josh Lepawsky involved in three events:

Oct 192017 evening, he’ll be reading with us at our recurring media theory salon Text-To-Speech

Oct 202017 during the day, he’ll be leading a workshop on researching online images, methods he’s used in his studies of discarded electronics

Josh Lepawsky is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He researches the geographies of modern waste, focusing on the international trade and traffic of discarded electronics (or ‘e-waste’), as well as the discards of human activity in outer space.
