Seeking adventurous, imaginative and visionary volunteers
Have you ever wondered what it’s like transforming an empty shell of an industrial building into a multi-purpose media arts centre?
VIVO is seeking some adventurous, imaginative and visionary volunteers to help us shape our new home at 2625 Kaslo Street. A plan for the new space has been drafted, and now we just need bodies to set everything in motion!
Tasks include (but are not limited to):
- Moving palettes with the aid of a lift
- Moving light boxes
- Unpacking heavy boxes
- Sorting through the archive material
- Building shelves
- Building walls
- Building furniture
- Counting things and creating lengthy lists
- Painting cupboards (clothing provided)
- Painting walls (clothing provided)
- Taking tai chi breaks
- Taking San Pellegrino breaks
- Listening to podcasts
If you thrive on unconventional and unpredictable underdog environments, and consistently engaging artful discussions, we want you! Starting immediately, volunteer hours are available any day Monday-Friday, 12-4pm. Volunteers will be largely under the direction of our matriarch and archivist, Crista Dahl.
To sign up, visit our Volunteer page and be sure to check off ‘OTHER’.
Also feel free to contact Brit at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. She may or may not be able to answer them.
