VIVO Media Arts Centre is accepting Workshop Proposals from Instructors across Media Arts. The next deadline for proposals is Feb 23, 2026. We highly recommend applicants familiarize themselves with our past workshops before submitting a proposal: https://www.vivomediaarts.com/tags/workshop.

We welcome diverse ideas! Some examples might be: "Intro to DJing for QTBIPOC Folks", "Using Relic Technology in Sound + Video Production", "Professional Writing for Media Artists", "Projection Mapping for Newbies", "The Camera as Performer: Cinematography for Dance and Movement", etc.

Instructor Fees: Workshop Instructors will be paid $80/hour for instruction time. Workshops generally range from 3 - 12 hours in total and will take place on evenings and weekends. We will prioritize on-site workshops that use our equipment and resources, but remote workshops may also be considered.

About VIVO: VIVO is located on the unceded territory of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations. Incorporated as Satellite Video Exchange Society, VIVO is a steward of critical history and an agent for emergent experimental media arts practices. Our programs foster formal and critical approaches to media arts, and reflect the diversity of contemporary technologies and communities that coalesce around new forms of knowledge and creativity. For further information on our Vision, Mission, and Values, please visit: https://www.vivomediaarts.com/about.

  • Meaningful inclusion of equity-owed artists and audiences
  • Emergent, diverse, and critical media practices
  • Creative experimentation and/or interaction with traditional and generational media practices
  • Community and audience engagement potential
  • Feasible use of equipment, space, labour, and other resources

Accessibility: We accept both written and video submissions. If you wish to skip the written questionnaire and instead apply by uploading a video file, please indicate this in the form and you will be directed to the video upload section.
